Public Enemy Welcome To The Terrordome (Def Jam) 1989

This is the first tune on the blog as this was the one I was listening to at the time when I decided to start posting. Public Enemy are without doubt one of the greatest rap groups ever. Political, controversial lyrics. Masterful sampling and production-they had it all.

'Welcome To The Terrordome' was released as a single and also appeared on their 1990 album 'Fear Of A Black Planet' The rhythm track here, and for many of Public Enemy's tunes is absolutely amazing. It is tough and suits Chuck D's big booming baritone and hard edged lyrics. He means business and so does the music. Whatever your political persuasions, views or thoughts, you cannot ignore Chuck D's passion whilst he delivers his message through the microphone and I feel respect is due each and everytime.
