LL Cool J I'm Bad (Def Jam) 1987

LL has to be the one of the most successful rappers of all time? He has been in the business since 1985 when he released 'Radio' (as far as I'm aware) and he is still knocking about now! This was the first track on his album 'Bigger and Deffer' and I used to love the scratched chorus on this. Premier was to later make a career from the same technique! This really was the business when it was out in 1987, back in the days when 'I'm a better rapper than you are' were the lyrical order of the day. Things soon changed a year later with NWA's 'Straight Outta Compton' and Ice T's 'Power' but we'll get onto those another time..
