Not strictly rap music if you think about it.. Definitely an Electro classic though with soulful vocals and a cool as f*ck xylophone sounding thing in it as well as classic 808 style beats and an old school sampler running through it. ACE.

Arthur Baker Breaker's Revenge (Atlantic) 1984

How good is this?! Reminds me of Puma trainers with fat laces and a certain classic film that any self respecting hip hop fan will know of-Beat Street. For those who don't know (shame on you!) this tune was playing whilst the New York City Breakers were battling with The Rock Steady Crew in 'The Roxy nightspot in the movie. I watched this film so many times when it was out. I remember there was a pirate copy floating around and it was that much in demand that a stranger knocked on the front door as someone told him I had a copy of it! (This was pre-internet..) This record is a serious classic.

I absolutely LOVE this record. It's fantastic. Simple as that. This defines the Electro sound for me. I can honestly say there's nothing I don't like about this tune....the eerie synth sound really does it, along with the squelchy bass and classic drum machine era beats. STONECOLD CLASSIC, go buy a reissue..
